Saiundo "Unchu" Selected Wagashi Gift Box (Wakakusa/Hakugibo/Asashio/)だんだん)

Features:

Songjiang Mingguo (famous fruit brand) is a culmination of centuries of tradition, offering a taste of its heritage.

This "Cloud Dawn" gift box features four of Saiunko's most popular confectionery, including "Wakakusa," hailed as a representative sweet of Matsue. One box offers a taste of classic flavors passed down from the Edo period, as well as modern wagashi (Japanese sweets) with a contemporary twist, making it the perfect introduction to Japanese tea ceremony culture.

【Wakakusa】The Spring Breeze That Has Been Passed Down for a Century

Caiyuntang's signature dish. Made with a unique process, Qiufei (mochi) is coated with vibrant green plum blossom powder (glutinous rice flour), symbolizing the tender sprouts of early spring. It has a soft, chewy texture and a rich rice aroma, making it an indispensable classic at Songjiang tea ceremonies.

【Hōkibō】A wonderful balance of suppleness and sweetness

Named after the legendary tengu of Mount Ooyama in Tottori Prefecture. It features a filling of carefully simmered red bean paste (with skin) made from high-quality Hokkaido red beans, wrapped in a soft kubi (rice flour) filling, and finally sprinkled with wasanbon sugar. The flavor is rich and layered, with an elegant sweetness.

【Asashio】Simple yet sophisticated yam buns

The outer skin is made with specially selected yam, which releases a subtle, natural sweet potato aroma after steaming. The filling is a light purple red bean paste made from peeled red beans, with a smooth and delicate texture that blends perfectly with the delicate outer skin.

だんだん】Modern delicacies that are an eclectic mix of Japanese and Western cuisine

"Dandan" means "thank you" in the Songjiang dialect. This is a baked mantou (steamed bun) that incorporates Western dessert techniques, and it comes in two flavors: matcha and chocolate. The rich buttery aroma paired with Japanese white bean paste creates a soft and moist texture, making it very popular among the younger generation.
